Solution. To resolve this issue, do any one of the following: Ed it the application server's datasources in the Application Server Administrative Console to correct the values. Unregister the ORS from the Hub Console and restart the Appserver and register the ORS again to the MDM Hub. Running the batch job again will be successful this time.
If you're sure that the password is correct - including the case, and any special characters (you haven't switched to the wrong keyboard layout for example) then it still sounds like you might be connecting to the wrong database/instance. or you're using proxy authentication and have lost the connect-through grant, but that seems unlikely too.
